Marshall County Spotlight:

From the moment you walk through the doors of any school in Marshall County, you can feel it: the warmth, the support, and the unwavering commitment to every child who enters. At the heart of that spirit are the Communities In Schools coordinators, whose compassion and dedication help make this sense of family possible each and every day.

These incredible women work tirelessly behind the scenes, often without recognition, to ensure that students and families have what they need to thrive. They understand that true success begins with meeting basic needs and building strong foundations. Whether a family is in need of food, hygiene products, clothing, connections to community resources, or guidance with parenting and job skills, Marshall County’s Communities In Schools coordinators are there with open hearts and helping hands. They don’t just offer resources; they offer reassurance, dignity, and hope.

Beyond meeting tangible needs, such as food, hygiene and clothing, they are deeply committed to nurturing a culture where attendance matters and every school day counts. Through initiatives like the Pledge to Be Present, weekly attendance celebrations, and creative incentives that make coming to school exciting, they inspire students to take pride in showing up. Signing the Pledge to Be Present isn’t just putting their name on a paper, it’s a promise. A promise students made to themselves and their future, recognizing the power and opportunity that come from being present every single day.

These three coordinators serve without limits when it comes to supporting their schools. Their dedication knows no boundaries, and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls. They are mentors, encouragers, problem-solvers, and champions for every child they serve. Because of them, students in Marshall County don’t just attend school to learn but can also feel seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
