April Spotlight: Lewis County

Sarah Linger, CIS Site Coordinator at Lewis County High School, highlights a long-standing event that celebrates Communities In Schools in Lewis County while recognizing the hard work and achievements of students.

“Robert L. Bland Middle School and Lewis County High School host the “All in for Me” Awards each April to recognize case-managed students who have demonstrated growth, perseverance, and dedication throughout the school year. Inspired by the Communities In Schools slogan, “All in for Kids,” the award highlights students who are fully committed to their own success and personal progress.

To make the event even more meaningful, we partner with art teachers at both schools to showcase student talent. Art students create original pieces that incorporate the phrase “All in for Me” along with elements that represent Lewis County. School administrators review the submissions and select winning artwork.

During an April board meeting, we honor both the student award recipients and the selected art students. Each recognized individual receives a certificate and a print of the winning artwork. Copies are also presented to board members, the superintendent, administrators, county contacts, and state department officials.”
