Berkeley County site coordinators have been creating exciting, student-centered opportunities to boost attendance, engagement, and school spirit across their schools! Here is a quick glimpse into the Berkeley County magic!

At Martinsburg North Middle School, Nichel Griffin hosted a Glow Up & Love Yourself event focused on self-confidence, positivity, and student wellness.

At Eagle Intermediate School, Kathleen Cunningham shared that ESI has been busy since returning from holiday break! Activities have included random “show up and get a treat” days, a back-to-school Vibe Check, community service visits to a local assisted living facility, school-wide Push and Play attendance lessons, installation of an attendance stoplight, a March Madness Attendance Challenge, Snow Up for School snow cone rewards, and their always-popular High Five Fridays. Teachers are also helping students track attendance by calculating daily ADA% and posting it on hallway windows to build awareness and motivation. ESI is keeping the momentum strong through the end of the year and working to avoid the “Spring Slide!”

At Martinsburg High School, Scott launched a Free-Throw Tournament during lunch periods, with approximately 135 students participating—about 9% of the student population. Thanks to sponsorship from Nike, winners will receive gift cards totaling $250

At Spring Mills High School, Tracy and Sandra celebrated National Oreo Day on March 6 by hosting three games for students with three or fewer unexcused absences. All students present that day received Oreo cookies as part of the celebration.

These efforts highlight the creativity, dedication, and positive impact Berkeley County coordinators are making to support student success every day!
