Gilmer County November Spotlight

In the heart of Gilmer County, Communities In Schools (CIS) continues to prove why it’s a cornerstone of student support and family engagement. This month’s spotlight shines brightly on their recent Boo Bash, a spooktacular fall festival co-hosted with the PTA that brought the entire community together for an evening of free, family-friendly fun.

The Boo Bash transformed Gilmer Elementary School into a Halloween wonderland. They generously provided free popcorn and cotton candy to every student, ensuring no one left without a sweet treat in hand. The excitement didn’t stop there—families explored a chilling haunted house, navigated a twisty corn maze, bounced through giant inflatables, tested their skills at 12 game booths, and got festive with face painting.

Events like the Boo Bash showcase exactly what makes Gilmer County CIS so special: a commitment to removing barriers and creating joyful moments that strengthen school-community connections. By offering these experiences at no cost, CIS ensures every child—regardless of background—can participate fully in the magic of childhood traditions.

Hats off to the CIS team, PTA volunteers, and everyone who made the Boo Bash a hauntingly good success! We’re proud to spotlight Gilmer County Communities In Schools this November and can’t wait to see what they conjure up next.
