The incredible women of Brooke County Communities In Schools go above and beyond every single day to make sure students feel supported, valued, and cared for. Through unwavering dedication, teamwork, and creativity, they not only meet students’ needs — they bring joy and compassion to everything they do.
Each site coordinator leads with heart — showing empathy, energy, and genuine love for their students. They create safe, welcoming spaces where kids know they have someone in their corner, ready to listen, help, and cheer them on.
Their impact stretches far beyond the school walls. By building strong relationships with local businesses and community partners — from salons and pizza shops to funeral homes and the day report center — they ensure that no student or family in Brooke County goes without support. If there’s a challenge, they find a solution.
One shining example of their commitment was this year’s Trunk or Treat event. Despite the weather moving the event indoors, the coordinators turned it into a fun-filled, family-friendly celebration. They spent countless hours planning, decorating, and organizing an unforgettable experience for students and families across the county. Thanks to the generosity of community partners, families enjoyed candy, toys, photo stations, mascots, and so much more.
The turnout was fantastic, the smiles were endless, and the spirit of community shone bright — a true reflection of the heart and hard work of Brooke County’s Communities In Schools team. And the best part? They’re already looking forward to bringing the fun back next year!
